WINNIPEG – Conor Geekie’s 19th goal of the season at 19:34 of the second period proved to be the game-winner as the Winnipeg Ice beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 in the Western Hockey League on Friday.
Mikey Milne, Owen Pederson and Carson Lambos also scored as the Ice (42-9-3-2).
Tyson Zimmer scored twice for the Wheat Kings (28-23-3-2), who have now lost five straight games. Rylan Roersma had the other goal.
Zimmer’s first goal of the game in the second period ended a streak of 325 minutes and 17 seconds of shutout hockey for the Ice at home.
Daniel Hauser made 18 saves for the win, while Ethan Kruger stopped 34 shots for the Wheat Kings.

EDMONTON — Dylan Guenther scored twice, while Jalen Luypen and Luke Prokop added singles for the Oil Kings (45-12-2-1). David Adaszynski had the lone goal for Calgary (21-30-6-2).

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Chase Pauls had a pair of goals to lead the Hurricanes (25-28-3-1), who also had tallies from Easton Kovacs, Logan McCutcheon and Yegor Klavdiev. Ben King and Jayden Grubbe connected for Red Deer (39-17-2-1).

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. — Sam McGinley scored twice, while Josh Filmon, Raphael Pelletier and Connor Hvidston had singles for the Broncos (22-30-5-2). Andrew Basha scored the lone goal for Medicine Hat (11-42-3-1).
THUNDERBIRDS 3, AMERICANS 1
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Lukas Svejkovsky scored the game-winner for the Seattle (35-15-4-2), which also got goals from Sawyer Mynio and Conner Roulette. The Americans’ (16-36-5-0) goal came from Tanner Gould.
BLAZERS 3, ROCKETS 2
KELOWNA, B.C. — Quinn Schmiemann and Connor Levis scored to lead the Blazers (42-14-2-0) in a shootout victory. The Rockets (34-15-1-5) got both goals from Colton Dach.
ROYALS 6, COUGARS 2
VICTORIA, B.C. — Devin Aubin scored a pair of goals to lift the Royals (18-34-5-1) over Prince George. Tanner Scott, Riley Gannon, Carter Briltz and Tarun Fizer added singles.
Koehn Ziemmer and Connor Bowie scored for the Cougars (20-33-2-1).
GIANTS 5, SILVERTIPS 3
VANCOUVER — Adam Hall scored a pair of goals, while Nicco Camazzola, Evan Toth and Payton Mount added singles for the Giants (22-29-4-0). Jackson Berezowski had two goals, while Alex Swetlikoff also connected for Everett (39-9-3-5).
